The Trump Administration may be quietly proposing to privatize the Department of Veterans Affairs
Although President Trump and Shulkin have insisted they are opposed to privatization of the Veterans Health Administration, the proposal VA Secretary David Shulkin just unveiled to the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs on June 7 — coupled with Trump’s VHA budget — will, if not dramatically changed, end up pushing more veterans to private doctors and hospitals, and ultimately risks dismantling the VHA system.
